News For Fall!

I have begun my exploration of natural dyes in my clothing line. So much of the fall has been experimenting with dyes, harvesting plants from ditches, and planting perennial dye plants in my garden! I'll be starting with small accessories, such as belts, and will be ready to be selling them by spring!

The greatest news this year, is that I attended the International  Symposium and Exhibition of Natural Dyes in France this past April. My goal over the next couple of years is to learn more sustainable ways of creating my clothing line looking towards the use of natural dyes, and choosing the most sustainable fibers. Thanks to everyone who has supported my work so far, I will continue to dedicate myself to my art practise and my clothing line in the most considerate and ethical ways I can find.

Wearables

Drawing on over ten years experience as the head dyer of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, I work with the composition of color and image on each garment individually. I have designed my line inspired by color, movement and a comfortable femininity. Many dye techniques are used in the dyeroom which make these garments one of a kind pieces. Colors are dyed with high quality, lo impact fiber reactive dyes and will not fade if washed in warm water. Garments will not shrink in the washer or dryer. In using fiber specific dye I am able to leave as little waste as possible, while having excellent color results.
